Akagera National Park is central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. The rolling highlands, vast plains and swamp fringed lakes of this north eastern territory contain a rich biodiversity and are home to a number of rare species, With more than 12,000 large mammals and 482 bird species, this breath-taking landscape is every nature lover’s wildest dream. We shall take a game drive in search of these mammals.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer To Akagera National Park

A Pick up from your Hotel or Airport drive to Akagera national park check in at Akagera game lodge. 3:00pm you will have a boat cruise tour at Lake Ihema and late after, night game drive around the park.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast in the morning, around 7:00am You start your full day game drive for wildlife Safari Experience about 6 hours and head back to Kigali at your Hotel.

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest National Park

An early morning breakfast is followed by a drive to Nyungwe forest. On the way visit Nyanza King’s Palace, the National Museum of Butare and Nyanza which was the headquarters of the ancient Rwanda Kingdom before the arrival of the Europeans. The compound has the modern palace constructed by King Mutara in 1934. It is tastefully decorated with the traditional mats and utensils. Canopy walk visit at the afternoon; dinner and sleepover at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel.

Day 4: End Of Trip With Chimpanzees Tracking

Early morning, 5:00a.m, departure for Chimpanzees tracking. A walk into the forest with our knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology, and interspecies relationships will be a whole new learning experience for you. Lunch hour in Karongi near Kivu lake and Drive back to Kigali.
