Enjoy a pickup from your hotel or apartment in Kigali and travel in a 4x4 vehicle to Nyungwe National Park, departing around 6:00 am. Settle in for the scenic drive south, with rolling hills, tea plantations, and terraced farmland along the way. Upon arrival, meet your English or French-speaking driver/guide and learn about Nyungwe, one of Africa’s oldest and best-preserved montane rainforests, and its rich biodiversity.
Start your adventure at the forest’s edge, then set off into the rainforest on a guided nature walk beneath a thick canopy of ancient trees, ferns, and orchids. Your guide will help you spot colorful birds, butterflies, and, with luck, some of the park’s many primates, while sharing stories about the plants, wildlife, and conservation efforts that protect this forest. Choose between two highlights: step out onto the suspended canopy walkway for a bird’s-eye view over the treetops, or hike to the Kamiranzovu Waterfalls through lush, misty forest trails.
After your walk, pause to take in the quiet beauty of the forest, with its mist-covered ridges, rich green scenery, and the sounds of birds and wildlife all around you. Take your final photos and enjoy the picnic snacks you’ve packed. (Rain jackets, hiking boots, and a hearty picnic are recommended, as the weather can change quickly.)
Once you’ve said farewell to the park, relax on the scenic drive back to Kigali. Your driver/guide will drop you at your hotel or the airport, as long as your flight is on the same day the tour ends.

Nyungwe Forest Canopy Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer To Nyungwe National Park
We pick you up at 6:00AM early morning after your breakfast for Nyungwe Canopywalk Adventure and later After your Experience drive you back to Kigali at your Hotel. Our clients are advised to carry Rain Jacket, boots and heavy Picnic snacks.
